Welcome to our 4th newsletter. A bit slack I know- especially when some of you signed up more than 2 years ago!

We are always asked "where did the name come from". So I’ll permanently leave it at the bottom of our newsletters for those new to Texan.

EXCITING DEVELOPMENTS

After many visits to the lawyers, and other highly paid professionals we are able to offer licence’s to operate your very own “Texan Art Schools”.

Basically this is the rights, manuals, systems, contacts & know-how to run & own a Texan Art Schools store. Sort of like a franchise but not so rigid or expensive.

Our aim is to populate the famous Texan Art Schools ethos throughout NZ. Ensuring great kiwi artists are well represented and can make a living from their passion; but also that everyone in NZ can experience a Texan store.

NEW ARTISTS

Winter is our quiet time, so it’s been a great opportunity to delve around and find new product. We’d like to welcome on board: Jo Luping, Porteous Tiles, Kiri Schumaker & Ashley Hilton (just a few of the 11 new artists in the last few months!).

CURRENT TRENDS

Fresh back from the Melbourne trade-shows (boy has it got massive!) and we’ve got loads of new ideas and goodies coming through. Although I personally believe we have more home-grown talent here; they do have some good insight into new trends and home-wares.

Trees are big. I’m talking large, small, cut-out’s or solid wood trees as decoration, coat stands or jewellery stands. Birds and nature is still also popular.
*Beware I’m picking the trees will be here in SEP but won’t last long!

Plus loads of new jewellery (I may have gone a bit overboard here, but it was all so tempting and reasonably priced!).

FATHERS DAY

I know; I almost forgot myself! But don’t worry, recently we’ve made an effort to get more guys pressies in-store. Now we have everything from Art, Photos, Clocks and frames to Cufflinks, music CD’s (Including the enormously popular great NZ song book), books and fabulous recycled swandri bags!.
